Sorry to be annoyed, but I seriously feel that Win 10 combined with this version of MS Office is a huge violation of my privacy-and I don't know how to fight against it. I do a LOT of documents (I'm a writer) and other things and I simply won't have room for everything if it keeps storing things to the cloud account-and I don't intend to pay for something I didn't want in the first place. That is definitely something I think a buyer should be told before they spend the money to get it.)ĭoes anyone know any way to run MS Office WITHOUT it being online and connected to an account? Or at least can anyone tell me how to STOP it from uploading my documents automatically to the OneDrive for the account? Some of that has to do with storage space. Otherwise, I could do NOTHING in Word except type. Literally took me a couple of hours before it would do it. (It gave me fits with that, told me I couldn't activate it without the account, and then even when I did acquiesce-reluctantly!!!-it still sent me in circles for a while saying it couldn't verify it.
If this was going to be the case, I think Dell should have warned me that the program would be utterly useless without logging in. So I realize this is probably more of a MS issue, but since I paid Dell to get what I thought was a version that wouldn't allow MS to snoop into everything I do, it's really a Dell issue as well.
I want it saved on my hard drive (and I do my own physical backups). Now it uploads everything I do and I do NOT want it to do that. Why? I don't want to log in to have to use it, and that's what I thought I was purchasing. And yet, I couldn't activate it on my new computer without an MS account. I spent the extra money to get what I thought was a standalone version of MS Office.
